painting

While working on an oil painting this week, I've found myself slipping into a comfortable ease. Above all I am a painter. Since trying so hard to get better at illustrations I'd almost forgotten how much I love (need) my oils. It's nice not to struggle so much, this comes natural.

Oooohhh...... it looks beautiful...

And your pallete is lovely too - I've always loved looking at the different colours and how they've been mixed - I used to have one of mine hanging on the wall!

I can totally identify with this. During art school I often struggled with the notion that I wasn't a true artist because all I could do was take photos. I do love painting though...especially oil painting. I had to stop the oils when I got pregnant, but I've kept them all and can't wait to get back to them after Bean arrives. There's just something about the way oils move on the canvas...just beautiful.
