Pet Peeve

Illustration Friday's topic is "pet peeves". Well, I guess after thinking for a while, one of mine is when Tony throws his socks as our cat Indy (appearance changed here). Not that he throws them at her, that they usually stay there for a while. It's probably one of her pet peeves though.

I kinda stopped at an early point in this, as Tony and are about to go on a date--it's my birthday today and we're going out for Thai! :)

IF:Heavy

My submission for Illustration Friday's "Heavy" theme.
I really loved painting the food.
I'm considering making this into a print, we'll see.

dinosaur dreams

I propped this against a jar (right next to my palette) to take a picture. As I leaned back with camera in hand it fell forward , face first into the wet paint. What a mess it was! I ran over to the sink and rinsed it quick and only had to do a little fixing. Thank goodness for acrylic.

*I started this as an illustration for IF's theme:Theory. I had the boy with his eyes open, thinking of a "theory". I couldn't think of a theory for him, so now he's dreaming. Good intentions count, right?

Backwards

The Illustration Friday topic for this week is "backwards". I've had this concept in my head for a while now and it seemed natural that someone might be backing up or going backwards when confronting this particular area of a forest.
I must say I really like this whole visual idea and hope to take this into 3D sometime in the future or at least work more with it in some capacity.

IF Theme: Extremes

Acrylic on cardboard (Click on image for a closer view).

Illustration Friday's theme for this week was "Extremes". My painting reflects opposite states of being, both physical and mental. I was trying to show the outside (world) as harsh and cold while the interior is cozy and warm. I think when you are lucky enough to be with the love of your life this is how it plays out, more often than not.

"Open"

9 X 12" Acrylic on Wood Panel. (Click on image for a Closer View.)

The first illustration I've done for Illustration Friday. I've been wanting to contribute for a while and was poised and ready when the word "open" was posted as the theme. I hope for this to be the start of many more to come...
