Fixed-up Desk

This was a project I completed for E's room last year but just haven't gotten around to posting the Before and After's. Now that I have finally located the before pictures, I am even impressed, ha!. I pried up all the formica from the top (this was definitely the worst part), scraped off the contact paper someone had covered up the metal body with (?), sanded, painted and finally added some oak veneer plywood to the top, stained and sealed it.
And now it is just the desk I had pictured for him :)

Here are the before pictures.

* And the poster is Elisabeth's Krakatoa. I had bought if for myself but Enz claimed it for his own as soon as we opened the tube.

I'm keen on buying the krakatoa poster too, it's lovely and looks so good on your (his) wall.

That is amazing! I am always picking up valuable treasures that need some surface work. I am still getting around to most of them. Did you pick the desk up at the school surplus store?

I just posted your bento box on my blog. I hope to see a few pics of your contents.
~thanks, trish

what a nice desk, well done:) V is asking for one but her room is so small, she says that every little kid needs their own desk, so i guess i have to think about it seriously!

I love the certain Lego structure on his desk, too. So cute and impressive, Kim. :)

Good job! I LOVE this poster! Your kid was right to claim it, it fits perfectly. You could almost believe it's a product image for the poster..
