Early Voting

Tony and I went today and voted early. I'm so relieved my vote is in, and can now just wait and hope for the best. It was such a perfect brisk day and the polling location was right across the street from a park so Tony and I took turns going in while Enz played.

p.s. There are always so many state constitutional amendments that catch you off guard and are worded confusingly so if any of my FL friends aren't sure, get in touch with me for the low down (we spent a bit researching them today).

Mook and Masks

So here is the finished product from the work-in-progress picture. Thank you guys so much for your comments, I really appreciate them. This is the newest mook for the shop and I really love him. I want to make lots more like it but those paper mache masks are so labor intensive, take so long. I have lots more ideas though :)

I love this

A couple of days ago, I found this bill holding thing while thrifting. As Tony will attest, I'm completely in awe of it and find myself drawn to it's mystery.(WHO made such a wonderful thing? Naive Artist, A villager somewhere, Genius designer, some kid?) What do you think?

Details

I was tagged by Leen (who just so happens to have a newish and wonderful blog) to do 11 Details. I followed her lead by drawing them and it was so much fun. Drawing is (to me) the hardest of all mediums and I haven't done any in so long, but it felt nice.

11 Details:

1. shop for clothes: Hand-me-downs from my sister. She's young and still spends money on clothes. And we have similar taste :)
2. furniture: 2nd hand, thrift stores.
3. sweet: Creme Brulee. rice pudding.
4. city: NYC. When we lived in New York (as a child), we'd go to the city almost every weekend. Haven't been in years but can't wait to go with Tony.
5. drink: club soda. (sparkling water)
6. music: The Cure. and of course lots more.
7. tv: Project Runway right now. Six Feet Under. Top Chef. (I didn't draw this one, ran out of time!)
8. movie: Royal Tenenbaums
9. workout: Well, I like to think I will do quick runs when it cools down a bit......
10.pastries: Napoleons!! (layers of pastry sheets with custard between them)
11.coffee: I live for my 2 cups a day.

My mom helped to clean out my Great Aunt's (sister of my much loved Grandmother)house a month or so ago. She brought me back these things she thought I'd like. I really do.

My cousin did a rough translation of this plaque for me but can anyone provide a better one?
